For the past 18 months, humankind has been grappling with Covid-19. More than four million people have died. All of us have been impacted in one way or another: Lost family or friends, crippling anxiety or depression, significant restrictions on how we live our lives.
We have developed vaccines as a way to end this period and move into a brighter future. Vaccines have some effectiveness in individuals but their real power is in a population: If everyone is vaccinated, the virus loses its ability to spread and ultimately loses its power. When each of us decides whether to become vaccinated or not, we are making a decision that affects both our own health and our broader community.
In the meantime, dark clouds are gathering on the horizon. The virus has continued to spread and mutate. More contagious variants are developing which threaten us. We have the ability to stop this by vaccinating our population.
As an NYC-based employer that serves teams across the country, Justworks has a responsibility to support efforts to get as many people vaccinated as possible. To this end, I am strongly encouraging all Justworks employees to get vaccinated immediately if they have not already done so. This is the right thing for the world around us, but it will also help our team members feel safe around each other. I have asked the HR team to implement the following policies, with exceptions available as required by law:
All of our team members employed as of today are eligible for a one-time payment of $250 if they provide proof of complete vaccination by August 31, 2021.
All employment offers extended after July 31, 2021 will require the new employee to provide proof of vaccination.
Proof of vaccination will be required to enter our offices as of Monday, August 2, 2021 until further notice.
These policies will strengthen our team and contribute to a safer world and a brighter future.
